Shangri-La blinds use a construction found in no other window covering. Two layers of soft sheer fabric – one at the front of the window, one at the back – hold horizontal fabric vanes suspended between them. The vanes tilt open and closed like the slats of a venetian blind, but the sheers on either side soften all light that passes through them.
When the vanes are open, natural light filters through both sheer panels – bathing the room in soft, diffused light without glare and without closing off the view to the outside. When the vanes are closed, the overlapping sheer fabric provides privacy while still allowing ambient light through. When fully raised, the blind collects into a compact headrail and disappears entirely from view.
